What does it mean when the District Attorney's Office want more information from the detectives?

It means they want more info. A DA has to decide not only whether to charge, but exactly what to charge, and who to charge. That will turn on many factors, including the possibility that some evidence will be suppressed. Seeking more information is fairly common. It does not mean that the DA is more or less likely to charge someone, it just means they want more info.
