If God is infinite than why can't one just consider the universe infinite?

i do consider the universe infinite to us humans. I cannot possibly imagine the extent that God made the universe stretch too. And neither can scientist, since they too cannot find the end. Maybe it just goes in one circle and we do not know it, kinda like a dog chasing his tail does not know it either. A cirlce is infinite unless of course you cut it in half.
